Management Team
Sandeep Singh joined Western Copper and Gold as CEO in February 2024. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Osisko Gold Royalties.
Over the preceding 15 years, Mr. Singh worked as an investment banker specializing in the North American metals and mining sector at BMO Capital Markets and Dundee Securities. He co-founded Maxit Capital, a leading independent mergers and acquisitions (M&A) firm. He has advised numerous mining companies on financing alternatives and strategic matters. He has been involved in some of the most complex and value-enhancing mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions in the sector. Mr. Singh holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Concordia University and an MBA from Oxford University.
Michael Psihogios is an experienced financial executive with over 20 years of experience working with public, private, and investment companies in the natural resources industry.
Mr. Psihogios joined Western Copper and Gold as CFO in July 2024. Previously, he served as CFO of Atlas Salt. Previously, he served as the CFO of DUMAS Mining, an underground mining equipment builder, from 2016 to 2021, where he established the systems and controls that enabled a successful business turnaround and a profitable growth strategy. Before DUMAS Mining, Michael worked with an international natural resource private equity fund on numerous senior executive, financial, and corporate development secondment roles within portfolio companies.
Mr. Dirk is a proven mining operator with 37 years of experience leading large-scale operations and delivering major projects across multiple commodities and jurisdictions.
He spent 20 years at Suncor Energy, where he held progressively senior operational roles and served as the senior operational leader on the Fort Hills mega-project, one of Canada’s landmark resource projects. Internationally, he served on the executive team for Kaz Minerals’ large-scale Peschanka copper-gold project in Russia’s Far East. Mr. Dirk holds a degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Alberta and a technical diploma in Geosciences from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Cameron Magee brings over seven years of experience in financial services and capital markets, with a focus on the metals and mining sector.
Before joining Western Copper and Gold, Mr. Magee was a Senior Equity Research Associate at Cormark Securities, a leading Canadian independent investment bank. In this role, he managed the coverage of over 40 precious and base metal equities, spanning the full lifecycle from early-stage exploration to feasibility, construction, and production. Mr. Magee is a CFA charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Shena Shaw has been managing projects and contributing to environmental assessments across the North for over 20 years, and is now supporting the Casino Project through the first-ever Panel Review process in the Yukon.
Her knowledge and advice help the company make strategic and effective decisions when planning and implementing Indigenous and community consultation and engagement. After graduating from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology (focusing on First Nations Studies and Geography), Ms. Shaw joined the Yukon Chamber of Commerce with a role in supporting community-based entrepreneurship programs and services. A relocation to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, introduced her to the mining industry for the first time when she joined DeBeers Canada’s Snap Lake Project. Following that, she embarked on a lengthy career in environmental consulting in Yellowknife and Whitehorse, focusing on the responsible development of resource extraction through the environmental assessment and Indigenous engagement processes of large-scale projects in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Alaska, and across Canada. Ms. Shaw participated in the consultation and socio-economic impact assessment work for the Kaminak Coffee Gold Project, Victoria Gold’s Eagle Gold Project, and the Casino Project, all of which are based in the Yukon. She is deeply familiar with the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act process and was involved in the Mackenzie Gas Project Joint Review Panel process in the Northwest Territories. Shena is currently a director for the Yukon Chamber of Mines.
Mr. Roldan is an accomplished mining executive with more than 25 years of international experience across the full mine lifecycle, from early-stage exploration through development, operations, and closure.
Most recently, he held senior roles with Newmont, where he led multi-million-dollar engineering studies for projects in Canada, Suriname, and Chile. In the Yukon, he successfully advanced the Coffee project through YESAB’s environmental assessment process. He is also a former director of the Yukon Chamber of Mines. Mr. Roldan has served as a mine general manager for active operations in Honduras and Guatemala. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Utah.
John Miller is a licensed Professional Environmental Geologist with over 25 years of experience in environmental assessment, groundwater science, and regulatory affairs.
He holds both a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the University of Waterloo and has been registered with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia since 2004.
His career spans senior leadership roles in Yukon’s Energy, Mines and Resources department, where he managed compliance, monitoring, and First Nation engagement programs, and spearheaded collaborative stewardship initiatives across multiple Traditional Territories.
John has also held federal and territorial scientific roles, including as Senior Scientist for Groundwater with Environment Yukon and Senior Environmental Scientist with Environment Canada, where he provided expert hydrogeological guidance on contaminated sites, mining projects, and water licensing. His early career included consulting roles focusing on groundwater monitoring and environmental site assessments.
Currently serving as Senior Director of Environmental and Regulatory Affairs, John leads multidisciplinary teams conducting environmental, social, economic, heritage, and health assessments for the Casino Project.
John is recognized for his strategic leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to collaborative environmental stewardship.
Calista Morrison holds a B.Sc. in Biology from Acadia University and a Master’s in Resource and Environmental Management from Simon Fraser University.
She spent several years working for the governments of Canada and British Columbia supporting the BC treaty process, working first in negotiations and later in policy development. Born and raised in the Yukon, Calista returned to the territory to pursue environmental consulting, specializing in consultation and engagement. She began working on the Casino Project as a consultant in 2021 and officially joined the team as Director of External Affairs in June 2023.

Mark E. Smith is a professional engineer with registrations across the USA and Canada, including the Yukon, and with 45 years of experience in gold and copper mining and mineral processing with special focus on heap leaching and tailings management.
He has much of the last 20 years working on cold climate projects, including alpine and subarctic locations. He principally works as a senior reviewer and as a member of review, advisory and technical boards.
Mark holds a master’s degree in civil and geotechnical engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and has served on its College of Engineering Advisory Board for over 15 years. He started his career in the Nevada goldfields working for Canadian miner Rayrock Mines. He later cofounded and managed for nearly 25 years a consulting and engineering company with a staff of 500 and offices in 7 countries. His experience includes 12 years working in the Yukon Territory, including on the owner’s teams for Coffee Gold, Macpass and Mactung, consulting for the Yukon Energy, Mines and Resources on the Mine Waste Management guidelines and for the response to the Victoria Gold slope failure.
Most recently, he chaired the independent review board for the Eagle Gold failure and served as lead author of its forensic report. Mark is currently on the corporate review boards for Glencore, Barrick, and Minsur. He serves as a technical advisor to Coeur Mining (B.C., Alaska, South Dakota, and Nevada) and Tectonic Metals (Alaska). He is chair of the technical steering committee for Brazilian Nickel’s project in Brazil. He also serves on the review board for the closure of a massive gold and copper complex in Peru, including the tailings and heap leach facilities.
Raymond Threlkeld is a seasoned mining professional with over 30 years of experience in mineral exploration, mine operations, construction, and executive management.
In 2020, Mr. Threlkeld was inducted into the U.S. National Mining Hall of Fame, recognizing his significant contributions to the mining industry.
Currently, he is a director of New Found Gold, and until recently, was a director of Calibre Mining. He also served as Chairman of Newmarket Gold, becoming a director of Kirkland Lake Gold upon the sale of Newmarket to Kirkland for $1 billion. Additionally, he was a director of Northern Empire, which was sold to Coeur Mining in 2018 for US$90 million.
Mr. Threlkeld was President and CEO of Rainy River Resources, which was developing the 4-million-ounce Rainy River gold deposit in Ontario. New Gold purchased Rainy River for $310 million in 2013. From 2006 to 2009, Mr. Threlkeld led the Western Goldfields team that acquired, developed, and brought into operation the Mesquite Gold Mine in California, which was subsequently purchased by New Gold for $314 million in 2009. From 1996 to 2004, he held a variety of senior executive positions with Barrick Gold, rising to the position of Vice President of Project Development.
Among his notable accomplishments were the Pierina Mine in Peru, Bulyanhulu Mine in Tanzania, Veladero Mine in Argentina, Lagunas Norte Mine in Peru, and the Cowal Mine in Australia. Mr. Threlkeld holds a B.Sc. degree in Geology from the University of Nevada.
Robert J. Chausse is a proven leader with over 25 years of international finance experience in the mining industry.
He most recently served as CFO of New Gold before his retirement and is currently a director of Revival Gold. Previously, Mr. Chausse served as CFO of Richmont Mines, CFO at Stornoway Diamonds, and EVP & CFO of AuRico Gold. His experience also includes VP of Finance, Operations and Projects for Kinross Gold, along with progressively senior roles at Barrick Gold. Mr. Chausse is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Toronto Metropolitan University.
Pamela O’Hara has over 30 years of expertise in advancing mining and transportation infrastructure projects, including at Ekati, Voisey’s Bay, Wolverine, Hope Bay, Canadian Pacific Railway, and the Port of Vancouver.
As a Registered Professional Biologist and Certified Sustainability (ESG) Practitioner, she is known for delivering projects that are innovative and community focused. Ms. O’Hara combines technical acumen with executive-level leadership to effectively navigate complex regulatory landscapes. She has served as an advisor and on several boards, including with the Yukon Chamber of Mines and the Yukon Mine Training Association. Since March 2026, Ms. O’Hara has been the VP of Permitting and Government Relations for Westhaven Gold Corp. From May 2021 to May 2024, she served as Vice President Sustainability of Fireweed Metals Corp. Ms. O’Hara holds a B.Sc. in Biology and Oceanography from the University of British Columbia and an M.Sc. in Environment and Management from Royal Roads University.
Mr. Vitton is the former Executive Managing Director, Head, US Equity Sales, Bank of Montreal Capital Markets (BMO Capital Markets) where he originated and placed more than USD $200 billion through public and secondary offerings and M&A transactions across all market sectors.
In the metals and mining sector, Mr. Vitton has acted as seed investor, lead/co-lead underwriter or in a M&A capacity, in some of the most important deals in the sector including African Platinum, Arequipa Resources, Bema Gold, Brancotte Resources, Comaplex Minerals, Detour Gold, Diamond Fields Resources, Echo Bay Mines, Francisco Gold, Franco-Nevada, Gammon Gold, Getchell Gold, Golden Shamrock Mines, Guinor Resources, Hemlo Gold Mines, Ivanhoe Mines, Meridian Gold, MexGold Resources, Minefinders Corporation, Moto Goldmines, New Gold, Northern Orion Resources, Osisko Mining, Peru Copper, Wheaton River Minerals, Randgold Resources, Rio Narcea Gold Mines, Skye Resources, Semafo, Sino Gold Mining, UrAsia Energy, UraMin, among many others.
Mr. Vitton was also the co-founder of MMX Minerals e Metalicos (Brazil) (“MMX”) and LLX Logistica (Brazil). MMX sold Minas Rio and Amapa assets to Anglo American for US$5.5 billion in cash in December 2008, returning US$8.8 billion in cash or stock distributions to MMX shareholders, offering six times return from IPO in two and half years. LLX Logistica (Acu Port) was sold to Energy Infrastructure Group. Additionally, he co-founded Petro Rio, one of the largest independent Brazilian public oil and gas producers, producing over 35,000 bbls per day, with a current market capitalization of US$7.0 billion. Recently, Mr. Vitton acted as seed investor and capital markets advisor to Newmarket Gold, which was sold to Kirkland Lake Gold for $1.0 billion, combining to form a $2.4 billion company. Kirkland Lake Gold was awarded 2018 Digger of the Year (Diggers and Dealers). He acted as investor and capital markets advisor to ASX-listed Gold Road Resources, raising A$57 million, and bringing the Gruyere gold mine into production jointly with Gold Fields. Gold Road Resources. won the Diggers and Dealers award for best deal in 2017. He acted as investor and advisor to Cardinal Resources in its acquisition by Shandong Gold for A$394 million.
Mr. Vitton was an investor, director and special committee member of Premier Gold Mines in its acquisition by Equinox Gold for $611.7 million and spin out of i-80 Gold. Mr. Vitton is a partner and member of P5 Infrastructure, operating in partnership with EQT Infrastructure/CMA CGM, where EQT Infrastructure/P5 Infrastructure acquired 90% of Global Gateway South Terminal/ Fenix Marine Services, a deep-sea terminal in Long Beach Harbor, CA. In January 2022, EQT Infrastructure/P5 Infrastructure sold Global Gateway South/Fenix Marine Services for US$2.3 billion EV, returning 3x in four years. Mr. Vitton is a seed investor and advisor to Ensign Gold, acquired by Revival Gold. Mr. Vitton is a shareholder and director of Western Copper and Gold. Mr. Vitton holds his securities licenses through INTE Securities.
Mr. Vitton is a graduate of the University of Michigan Business School, former Seat Holder, NYSE, and former President, New York Society of Metals Analysts. He has invested and partnered with some of the largest sovereign fund, private equity funds, mutual and hedge funds. Mr. Vitton is focused on the energy, infrastructure, industrial and mining sectors.
Dr. Klaus Zeitler was the founder and CEO of Inmet from 1987 – 1996. Dr. Zeitler was Senior Vice President of Teck Cominco from 1997 until 2002, and previously was on the Board of Directors of Teck from 1981 to 1997 and Cominco from 1986 to 1996.
Dr. Zeitler is currently Director and Executive Chairman of Amerigo Resources and Lead Director of Rio2.
